Our mine

A high-potential gold project in south-west Tanzania

The Matundasi project sits inside the Lupa goldfield of the Mbeya region — a historically productive greenstone corridor where artisanal workings have followed visible quartz-hosted gold veins for decades. CVR Mining is converting that legacy into a structured, modern exploration programme.

  • Systematic surface mapping, trenching and channel sampling across mapped vein sets.
  • Independent laboratory verification of every sample batch before publication.
  • Licences and permits held in full compliance with Tanzanian mining regulation.
  • Local workforce, local suppliers and shared community benefit from day one.

Geology

Understanding the rock before moving it

Matundasi lies within the Lupa goldfield, part of the Ubendian mobile belt that frames the northern edge of Lake Rukwa. The district is dominated by granitoid intrusions cut by shear zones, and it is those structures that host the quartz–sulphide vein systems our programme is targeting.

Structural control is the defining feature: gold grades rise sharply where north-west trending shears intersect the granite contact, producing repeatable, mappable targets rather than isolated occurrences.

Mineralisation is hosted in milky to smoky quartz veins carrying pyrite, minor chalcopyrite and free gold. Sulphur values in the thousands of ppm confirm a strongly sulphidic system — consistent with the pyrite-associated gold observed in hand specimen and under the loupe.

Copper and silver appear as pathfinder elements. Their ratio to gold is being used to vector along strike and towards the higher-grade shoots within each vein.

Work follows a staged exploration protocol: geological mapping, soil geochemistry, trenching across vein strike, then channel and chip sampling at fixed intervals. Samples are bagged, sealed and numbered on site.

Every batch is submitted to an independent laboratory with certified reference material and blanks inserted into the stream, so reported grades can be traced back to a documented chain of custody.

Bar lengths are a visual comparison of the reported values for this single sample. They are not a resource estimate and do not imply grade continuity across the licence. The photograph alongside is a reference section showing a typical auriferous profile — it is not an image of the CVR licence.

Tanzania A land of opportunity

Tanzania is one of the world's most promising gold regions, with a stable investment climate, rich mineral resources and a clear national vision for economic growth.

Sustainability

Mining that leaves more than it takes

Responsible development is not a chapter at the end of the report — it is how the project is built. Four commitments guide every decision on site.

Local employment

Hiring, training and promoting from the surrounding communities, with skills that stay in the region long after a drill programme ends.

01

Water & land care

Controlled water use, sediment management and progressive rehabilitation of trenches and access tracks as work advances.

02

Community investment

Working with local leadership on the priorities they name — water access, school infrastructure and road maintenance.

03

Transparent governance

Independent assays, documented chain of custody and reporting that separates measured fact from forward-looking expectation.

A staged path from outcrop to production

Value in exploration is created by de-risking, step by step. This is the roadmap we are executing at Matundasi.

Phase 01

Licence & access Complete

Tenement secured, community consultation opened and site access established.

Phase 02

Mapping & sampling Complete

Surface geology mapped, vein sets defined and first rock samples submitted to an independent laboratory.

Phase 03

Trenching & verification In progress

Systematic trenching across strike with channel sampling to test grade continuity beyond the initial high-grade results.

Phase 04

Drill programme Planned

First diamond drill holes on the priority shoots to test the system at depth and support a maiden resource estimate.

Phase 05

Development decision Future

Scoping study, permitting and the financing structure required to move from exploration into staged production.

Investor questions

Matundasi is an early-stage exploration project. Surface sampling has confirmed gold mineralisation, but no mineral resource or reserve has been declared and no production decision has been taken.

All samples are analysed by an independent commercial laboratory. Certified reference material and blanks are inserted into each batch, and certificates are retained with the corresponding field notes and sample coordinates.

No. A single rock sample records the grade of that specific piece of rock. Grade continuity along strike and at depth can only be demonstrated through systematic trenching and drilling — which is precisely the purpose of Phase 03 and Phase 04.

Funds are allocated against defined technical milestones — trenching metres, sample counts, drill metres — so progress can be measured against spend rather than against a calendar.

Exploration risk, commodity price volatility, permitting timelines and currency exposure. Mineral exploration is speculative by nature and capital invested may not be recovered.
